Since 2001, more than 50,000 Americans were combat-wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. Not included in this number is the unseen trauma of mental and emotional recovery from issues stemming from post-traumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Moreover, we are losing an injured warrior to suicide at the rate of 22 a day. Our purpose is to continue to raise awareness and money to support our injured warriors as they transition back to civilian life. Our founders John “TIG” Tiegen and Margaret Tiegen started Beyond The Battlefield The Tiegen Foundation it is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit foundation. The organization provides support and resources for wounded warriors as they face the many challenges they encounter during the rehabilitation, reintegration, and healing process.
Every year the Beyond The Battlefield The Tiegen Foundation holds A Warrior Weekend.
This year it will be held at the Reveille Peak Ranch. This weekend will kick off a three-day experience with training and excitement. Starting off with a visit to Texas State Veterans retirement home. Two days at the shooting range for some long-range rifle shooting, shooting competition including shotguns, rifles, pistols and helicopter target shooting, sporting clay/skeet, and The Redneck Olympics. |
